Dark waves crashing,
Pulling anything they can
Downward into the abyss.

Darkness consumes
Even the tiniest of hopes.
Escape a vivid dream,
But a dream either way.

The cold, unimaginable.
Stealing any sense
And leaving a wealth
Of chaos, a mess of
Electrical signals
Screaming for it all to stop,
From the toes to the tips of teeth.

“Please make it stop,”
And it will.
After the air is replaced
With dark, blue water.
A remorseless killer
Hidden by a beautiful façade
Which is quickly forgotten
Where the warmth of the sun
Can no longer reach.

The fear fills the void.
The primal terror
As your eyes become bloodshot
And your skin becomes blue,
As the darkness below reaches out for you.
The last glimmer of life,
Vanished among the unknown.
